Rwanda’s military and police, working with other government institutions, have organized a series of activities aimed at improving community welfare and supporting development, scheduled to begin Monday, March 9, 2026.
The initiative will be carried out under the theme “Partnership between citizens, the Rwanda Defence Force and the Rwanda National Police in activities marking Liberation Day 32.”
The activities are part of annual efforts to promote the well-being of citizens ahead of Rwanda’s Liberation Day celebrations, which take place every July 4. Officials say the participation of the military and police in development and social welfare programs is guided by laws governing the institutions and reflects their collaboration with citizens in national development.
According to organizers, the activities will take place across the country and will focus on several key sectors, including health services, livestock support, construction of houses for vulnerable families, building classrooms, expanding access to clean water, constructing small bridges and protecting the environment.
The programs are intended to address community needs and improve daily living conditions for residents in different parts of the country.
Security institutions said the initiative also highlights the importance of cooperation between citizens and national institutions in building sustainable development.
The Rwanda Defence Force and Rwanda National Police thanked citizens for their continued collaboration and commitment in maintaining security and supporting development efforts across the country.
Officials said the partnership between communities and security institutions has played a key role in strengthening stability and enabling development initiatives that benefit citizens.
