Rwanda is participating for the fifth time in the annual Salon International de l’Agriculture, one of Europe’s largest agricultural trade fairs, as it seeks to expand global markets for its farm and livestock products.
The nine-day exhibition, known as Salon International de l’Agriculture, opened Saturday at Paris Expo–Porte de Versailles and is expected to draw more than 600,000 visitors. As is tradition, the event was officially inaugurated by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Rwanda is exhibiting at Stand 7, where it is highlighting progress in boosting the value and export of agricultural and livestock products. The country is represented by the National Agricultural Export Development Board and the Embassy of Rwanda in France.
Fifteen Rwandan companies are taking part in the fair, showcasing products including coffee, tea and honey. Officials say the exhibition provides an opportunity for farmers, entrepreneurs and investors to exchange expertise and strengthen partnerships aimed at modernizing agriculture and expanding trade.
The fair features agricultural produce, livestock, processed goods and farming technologies from around the world, serving as a platform for innovation and international cooperation in the sector.
Rwanda has intensified efforts to grow agricultural exports as part of its broader economic strategy. In December 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources announced that agricultural and livestock exports had generated more than $893.1 million in revenue for the country in 2025.
Under its national economic transformation strategy, Rwanda aims to raise annual foreign exchange earnings from agricultural and livestock exports to $1.5 billion by 2029.
