At least seven countries have already exited the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with the group stages coming to a close. Uganda, Botswana, Zambia, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Zimbabwe are the latest teams to bow out.
Uganda was the most recent team to be eliminated following a 3–1 defeat to Nigeria in their final Group C match in Fes. Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the first half, while Raphael Onyedika added a second-half brace. Rogers Mato pulled one back for the Cranes, but a red card for Salim Magoola left Uganda with 10 men and struggling to respond, finishing bottom of the group with just one point.
Elsewhere in Group C, Tunisia were held to a 1–1 draw by Tanzania. Ismaël Gharbi gave the Carthage Eagles the lead from a penalty just before half-time, but Feisal Salum equalised three minutes after the restart. Tunisia finished second with four points, while Tanzania advanced as one of the best third-placed teams despite earning only their second point of the tournament.
Seven teams have now booked their places in the Round of 16: Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Mali, Morocco, South Africa, and Egypt, setting up an eagerly anticipated knockout stage.
