The second day of the Kirehe Cycling Road Race 2025 saw thrilling performances across all categories as cyclists battled it out on the challenging routes of Kirehe District this Sunday.

In the Girls’ Category, 17-year-old Masengesho Yvonne of Ndabaga Cycling Team continued her remarkable form by winning the second stage. Masengesho had already taken the first stage, which covered 72 kilometers from Kayonza to Kirehe, asserting her dominance early in the competition.

In the Junior Men’s Category, Ishimwe Brian “Obama”, also representing Ndabaga Cycling Team, emerged victorious in Sunday’s stage, marking a strong performance for the team.

The Men’s Elite Category saw Byukusenge Patrick of Java-Inovotec Pro Team claim the top spot on day two, closely followed by his teammates Nsengiyumva Shemu and Tuyizere Étienne. Competitors navigated various routes across the district, including the Rusumo Border area and Nyakarambi, testing both endurance and strategy.

In the Women’s Elite Category, Nyirarukundo Claudette of Team Amani (Kenya) impressed once again, winning the second stage. Claudette had already secured victory on the first day, a 138-kilometer route from Kigali to Kirehe, and she maintained her lead throughout Sunday’s race within Kirehe District.

The Kirehe Cyclung Race 2025, now in its fourth edition, continues to attract top cyclists from across the country, and the region, offering a platform to showcase talent while promoting sports tourism in the district.
