Angola scored first in the 7th minute. Joá Paciência found space and fired a low shot past Bryne Omondi, giving Angola a 1–0.
In the 12th minute, Kenya won a penalty after VAR confirmed a foul on Austin Odhiambo, who calmly converted from the spot to make it 1-1.
Just minutes later, Marvin Nabwire received a yellow card that was upgraded to a red after VAR review for denying a clear scoring opportunity. Kenya played with 10 men for over 70 minutes.
Despite being a man down, Kenya defended bravely. Goalkeeper Bryne Omondi made several crucial saves, including denying shots from close range. The defense, especially Sakari, Owino, Omija, and later Kibwage, held strong.

Late drama — Angola was denied the win in stoppage time, Angola thought they had won when Kaporal headed in a rebound, but the goal was ruled offside after a VAR check. The match ended as a 1–1 draw.
The draw gives Kenya 4 points from 2 games, placing them at the top of Group A, ahead of Morocco and DR Congo, who have three points each.
Angola remains on 1 point and must win their final game against DR Congo to stay in the competition.
Kenya showed incredible character—playing almost the entire match a man down, yet still earning a valuable point. Their solid defense and composure under pressure reflect growing confidence under coach Benni McCarthy.
