EAC Minister Nduhungirehe sacked over personal opinions in state matters

President Paul Kagame has sacked Olivier Nduhungirehe who has been the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of East African Community, he was fired for using personal opinions over government policies.

“Today, 09th April, The President of The Republic has removed from office Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe for consistently acting based on personal opinions over Government policies, while serving as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Charge of East African Community,” reads a statement from Prime Minister Edourd Ngirente.

Nduhungirehe who is an active social media user took to twitter to thank President Kagame for trusting him with the position of state minister and also posted his firing letter.

“I am grateful to H.E @PaulKagame for the trust bestowed in me for the past two years an half, when I was privileged to serve as Minister of State in @RwandaMFA in charge of the East African Community. I am committed to continue serving my country & @RwandaGov in another capacity.” Nduhungirehe posted.

Nduhungirehe was appointed Minister of State in charge of EAC in August 2017 after removing him from ambassadorship position in Belgium.
