From November 4 to 6, 2024, Rwanda is hosting a significant conference focused on energy use across Africa, alongside an exhibition showcasing innovations in the energy sector.
The event was officially opened by Olivier Kabera, State Minister in the Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA). It has attracted a diverse group of participants, including government ministers, major energy companies, and stakeholders from various sectors interested in advancing electricity distribution and sustainable energy solutions across the continent.
Participants are engaging in fruitful discussions aimed at enhancing energy accessibility and promoting self-sufficiency in electricity for African nations. The conference provides a platform for sharing ideas on how to overcome current energy challenges and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy technologies.
In addition to the conference, an exhibition will highlight efforts of energy companies in tackling electricity issues in Africa, allowing attendees to explore cutting-edge solutions and initiatives.
Organized by Informa Markets in partnership with MININFRA and the Rwanda Convention Bureau, the event takes place at the Kigali Convention Centre. It underscores Rwanda’s commitment to achieving universal electricity access for its citizens by 2029, a goal that was initially set for 2024 but postponed due to budget constraints.
