Primary leaving examinations begin countrywide

Primary six candidates across Rwanda have begun writing their primary leaving examinations.

Over 200,000 primary school candidates in 1,099 examination centres in 3,644 schools countrywide started with mathematics today morning.

Later, Science and technology will follow,  and Kinyarwanda on the next day as well as English as the last.

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), has warned candidates against malpractice.

According to the NESA, both Ordinary level (O-level) and Advanced level (A-Level) exams will be conducted after the PLE exams on July 25 and continue until August 4, with 131,535 candidates doing O-level exams.

Also, 48,674 candidates will sit for A-level exams, while 28,196 candidates will sit for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs and 3,994 from Teachers’ Training Colleges.
