A policeman in Ntarabana Police Station in Rulindon district shot himself and died immediately after apologizing to friends and family.

The deceased who is yet to be named shot himself on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, when at work after sending a message to friends and family on WhatsApp.

First reports suggest that the deceased sent messages to his mother and family apologizing to everyone he betrayed and asking for forgiveness.

At one point he said,” All my friends, [referring to his best friend by name] I have nothing to give you but you are a good friend baby.”

“I’m grateful that we met and became friends in this life, you helped me when I needed you, and you did. [Lists the names of those who helped him in life], where it was difficult you were there. May God bless them?”

Rwanda Police Spokesperson, CP John Bosco Kabera, confirmed the news but did not explain what caused the deceased to shoot himself but an investigation is said to be underway.
