Rwanda is sending a team of seven athletes to compete in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, taking place from July 26th to August 11th. This marks a significant moment for Rwandan sports, with athletes representing a variety of disciplines.

The confirmed participants will take part  in four sports disciplines which include: swimming, athletics, cycling, and fencing,

Yves Nimubona (Men’s) and Clementine Mukandanga (Women’s) will complete in athletics, Eric Manizabayo in the Men’s Road Race, Diane Ingabire (Women’s), and Jazilla Mwamikazi (Women’s). Tufaha Uwihoreye (women) in the women’s fencing, Oscar Peyre Mitilla Cyusa (Men’s).

There’s also a possibility of an additional swimmer joining the team, bringing the total Rwandan representation to eight.

The athletes will travel to Paris on July 6th, allowing ample time to train and prepare before the Games begin. This dedicated preparation reflects Rwanda’s commitment to supporting its athletes in achieving excellence on the world stage.

The Paris 2024 Olympics mark a historic moment for the host city as well. Paris will become only the second city to host the Summer Games three times, following London. This year’s Games will also be the first French Olympics since the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville.

Rwanda’s participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics is a testament to the growing strength of its athletic programs. With a diverse group of talented athletes competing across multiple disciplines, Rwanda is poised to make a strong showing at this prestigious international event.
