Ugandan schools stage dominant performance  at the FEASSSA Games

At Huye International Stadium on Sunday, 27th August 2023, Uganda successfully defended its title as the overall champions of the 20th FEASSSA Games.

Ugandan schools put up an impressive performance in the ten-day schools championship hosted in Huye and Gisagara districts.

A total of 37 medals were won by Uganda; 17 of them were gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze.

Kenya claimed 23 medals in total; 8 gold and silver as well as 7 bronze.

Hosts Rwanda managed 12 medals; 4 silver and 8 bronze whereas Tanzania returned home with just three medals: 2 silver and 1 bronze.

The Ugandans dominated rugby, hockey, badminton, basketball, and handball in addition to swimming.

As always, Kenya dominated in Athletics (boys and girls), Lawn Tennis (boys and girls), Hockey (girls), and Volleyball (boys and girls).

Uganda will host the FEASSSA Games in 2024.
