Rwandan cyclist Samuel Niyonkuru blasted to victory in the 3rd stage of the 2023 Grand Prix Chantal Biya international Cycling Tour in a tumultuous bunch sprint ahead of Khafi Oussama (Morocco) and Rovder Pavol (Dukla Banska Bystrica).
The 20 year old clinched a time of 2:22:34 on Thursday after covering a distance of 104.2 kilometers between Ebolowa and Mengong-Sangmelima in Cameroon.
The Rwandan was five seconds ahead of the other cyclists. He moved to third place in the General classification after Day-3.
Rovder Pavol remains in the overall leader after a straightforward day for the maillot jaune while Khafi Oussama remains in second place.
More than 55 riders are taking part in the professional road bicycle racing stage race which has over the years become a significant event in the international cycling calendar.
The race is named in honor of Chantal Biya, the First Lady of Cameroon as wife of President Paul Biya.
French cyclist Axel Taillandier won the Yellow Jersey last year.
