The Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) has dismissed 411 employees, including one commissioner, due to misconduct including indiscipline, corruption and other offenses. The decision was endorsed by the Cabinet during a meeting held on November 9, 2024.
Among those dismissed are one Commissioner, 26 senior officers, 20 junior officers, 364 wardens, and other staff members holding lower ranks within the institution. The RCS stated that the decision was made in line with their commitment to promoting ethical conduct and maintaining high standards of operation within the service.
