On the sidelines of CHOGM2022, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame received Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall at Urugwiro Village where they discussed existing partnerships and areas of mutual interest.

“Thank you to President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame for the warm welcome to Rwanda”, said via tweeter The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

“I had the pleasure of hosting HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Mrs. Camilla Parker-Bowles at Urugwiro Village this morning, for a conversation centred around Imbuto initiatives, promoting and  supporting access to quality education and health for all, as well as empowering women and youth”, says the First Lady of Rwanda Jeannette Kagame.

Jeannette Kagame is the Founder and Chairman of Imbuto Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the development of a healthy, educated and prosperous society.

President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame hosted Their Royal Highnesses, who are in Rwanda for the first time for The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) from 20 – 25 June 2022.

CHOGM2022 convenes leaders from the 54 Commonwealth countries to reaffirm common values and agree on policies to improve the lives of its 2.5 billion citizens.

Prince Charles is representing the Queen Elizabeth, the head of the Commonwealth, at the summit of Commonwealth leaders, which was postponed in 2021 and 2020 because of the pandemic. (End).
