The Kirehe District leadership has called for strengthened collaboration with development partners to enhance service delivery and achieve the district’s 2024-2025 performance contracts (Imihigo). As part of this effort, more than 28,000 residents have been urged to pay their community-based health insurance (Mutuelle de Santé) within three weeks to ensure continued access to healthcare services.
During a Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) meeting, Eng. Cyprien Sebikwekwe, Chairperson of JADF Kirehe, applauded the contributions of development partners and encouraged them to remain active participants in the district’s development goals. He emphasized the importance of aligning efforts with the second phase of the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
Prof. Callixte Kabera, Chairperson of the Kirehe District Council, highlighted the vital role played by JADF members in driving community development. He called for continued partnership and collaboration in implementing performance contracts to promote socio-economic progress and achieve sustainable development.
Modeste Nzirabatinya, Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, urged stakeholders to reflect on past achievements, evaluate their contributions, and ensure better coordination in implementing development programs. He emphasized that ownership of development initiatives is critical to building resilience and achieving the district’s ambitions.
The JADF General Assembly, chaired by Prof. Kabera, aimed to evaluate the role of partners in advancing the district’s development agenda. The meeting sought to foster effective collaboration, improve program coordination, and align efforts with the district’s strategic goals.
Kirehe District is determined to position itself as one of the top-performing districts in Rwanda, with a focus on improving healthcare coverage and aligning efforts to benefit its residents. Development partners are expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of these initiatives.
