Democratic Green Party of Rwanda candidate Dr.Frank Habineza has pledged to address retirement age and tackle unemployment for those stuck in a dead-end-job and those worried of finding a job in today’s economy.
Delivering his message in a campaigning rally in Mukuru Sector, Huye District on Sunday June 30, 2023, the Green Party Presidential candidate assured his supporters that if elected to power, retirement benefits will be accessible at 60, rather than 65.
He proposed a reform where medical students will also receive legal training, ensuring they’re better equipped to navigate the complexities of medical law. Additionally, the DGPR candidate guaranteed full school meals, to promote better health and learning for all children if elected to power.
In Huye District, where the Green Party candidate lived for five, he was escorted by over 50 party members, and given a special welcome by jubilant party supporters who cheered and waved high fives and smiles as they greeted and grooved to welcome their candidate.
“This University town was once my home, for 5 five years. It shaped me into want I am today, I owe them.” He noted.
On Saturday, Dr. Habineza campaigned in Ngororero District, and was welcomed by happy supporters waving his posters. Addressing the crowd, he said, “If elected, he would make sure a factory is established in each sector, so that residents can get jobs,”
In a bold move, he promised to tackle the pressing issue of unemployment among the youth by creating over half a million jobs annually, doubling the government’s target of 1.5 million jobs over the past seven years.
Dr. Habineza acknowledged his late arrival at the campaign sites in Ngororero, Musha, and Gisagara districts, saying he understands the frustration this may have caused and sincerely apologizes to his supporters saying “it was late because of the poor roads”. He pledged to prioritize road rehabilitation within the first three months, should he be elected.
