Rayon Sports FC defeated AS Muhanga 4-0 in a friendly match played on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Muhanga District Stadium. The game was part of Rayon Sports’ preparations for the 2025/26 football season.

The match drew a large crowd, with many fans from Muhanga eager to see Rayon Sports in action.

Both teams started the game cautiously, with most of the play happening in midfield. Rayon had the first clear chance in the 12th minute when Adama Bagayogo took a shot, but AS Muhanga’s goalkeeper, Hategekimana Bonheur, made the save.

AS Muhanga responded by attacking mostly from the left side, where their Cameroonian winger Paul Pondi was active. In the 30th minute, Shingiro Honore tried his luck with a powerful shot, but it went just over the bar.

Rayon opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Musore Prince was fouled inside the penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty. Bagayogo’s first attempt was saved by Hategekimana, but he scored on the rebound to make it 1-0.

The first half ended with Rayon Sports in the lead.

In the second half, both teams made several changes. Rayon Sports continued to dominate and scored their second goal in the 61st minute through Harerimana Abdulaziz, who recently joined the team from Gasogi United.

Innocent Assana Nah added the third goal in the 87th minute with a strong shot. Rukundo Abdul Rahman put the icing  on the cake in the 90th minute with a penalty, ending the match 4-0 in favor of Rayon.

The friendly match was watched by Rayon  President Twagirayezu Thaddée and the Mayor of Muhanga District, Kayitare Jacqueline.

The win is part of Rayon Sports’ preparation against  Gasogi FC in Friendly on Sunday and for the new season, including their upcoming campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
