President Paul Kagame, on Thursday, December 14, 2023, made changes in various government agencies, including the Rwanda Broadcast Agency (RBA).
Prudence Rubingisa, who led the City of Kigali as Mayor, was appointed Governor of the Eastern Province, while veteran journalist Cleophas Barore was appointed Director General of RBA, replacing Arthur Asiimwe who was sent to work at the Embassy of Rwanda in Washington, DC.
Barore, also serves as Chairperson of Rwanda Media Commission, a media self-regulatory body.
From the Ministry of Local Government as permanent secretary, Samuel Dusengiyumva was appointed Councilor in Kigali City Council together with journalist Solange Ayanone. Later on Friday, Dusengiyumva was elected to Mayorship of the City and Ayanone will deputise him.
Others appointments include Mr. Valens Uwineza, as Head of the Office of the President of the Republic, and Madam Juliana Kangeli Muganza, Deputy Director of the Office of the President of the Republic
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Col. (Rtd) Donat Ndamage was appointed as Ambassador of Rwanda in Mozambique.
Madam Urujeni Bakuramutsa was appointed as Ambassador Rwanda in Jordan While Mr. Lawrence Manzi was appointed as Ambassador of Rwanda in Brazil.
Dr. Félicien Usengumukiza was appointed as Deputy Director of the National Institute of Governance (RGB) while Dr. Willy Mugenzi is named the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI).
Madam Stella Nteziryayo was named as a Chief Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Planning (MINECOFIN).
