A fire over the weekend destroyed more than 400 homes at the Bushushu disaster camp, in Mushobezo, Kalehe territory, South Kivu in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to sources on site, seven people were killed and two others were seriously injured by the flames of this fire.
The same sources report that these injured people are admitted to the Ihusi General Hospital.
The president of the Kalehe Company, Delphin Birimbi has called for intervention of the Government and humanitarian actors in favor of these victims:
“While asking the provincial and national government as well as the humanitarians to continue to help our affected brothers and this while waiting for the definitive solutions to the question of the definitive relocation of our affected brothers from the Bushushu and Nyamukubi axis”. He said.
The cause of this fire has not yet been revealed to the media.
