Tanzania crushed Cameroon by 178 runs, as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa B Qualifier in Rwanda continued over the weekend.
Pretty much all the batsmen got starts, but it was Kassim Nassoro’s 59 from just 19 balls that gazumped the total well beyond 200.
Abhik Patwa (36) and Ivan Selemani (31 from 14 balls) had got things off to a rollicking start, before Nassoro smashed three sixes and six boundaries, as he made hay at the end of the Tanzanian dig.
Tanzania ended on 240 for five, with 28 extras not helping the Cameroon cause.
In response, they were rolled over for just 62, as Jatinkumar Darji snared four for 7 in his four overs.
In other action on Saturday, Botswana’s Reginald Nehonde enjoyed another fantastic all-round performance.
He struck a classy 63 from 51 balls with the bat, before helping himself to four for 27 with the ball, to secure a 52-run win over Mozambique.
Botswana had put up 152 for five, with Nehonde receiving support from Karabo Motlhanka (30 from 16 balls) and Tharindu Perera (26).
In response, Mozambique were bowled out for 100, with the run chase never really going anywhere.
Mmoloki Mooketsi struck twice upfront, before Nehonde capped a fine day out with his four scalps.
Sierra Leone came up trumps in the West African derby against Cameroon this morning.
