The Swiss Team NSN Development does it again, the team won a second stage of the Tour du Rwanda in two days.

Like the previous day with Itamar Einhorn, it was the Spaniard Pau Marti who won the sprint in the streets of Huye where the public gathered to create a festive atmosphere. He narrowly beat Eritrean Henok Mulubrhan, the favorite of this 18th edition of the Rwandan race, who had marked this second stage to establish his leadership.

Without counting on the skill of Pau Marti, who is in great shape at the start of this season with a beautiful third place at the Figueira Champions Classic, a UCI 1.Pro level race in Portugal behind the very renowned Antonio Morgado, one of Tadej Pogacar’s teammates at UAE Team, and Alex Aranburu of the Cofidis team. At 21, the Spaniard is part of the new generation of Spanish and global cycling; he had also won the Course de la Paix in 2025, one of the biggest races reserved for young riders. But it was also at the Giro d’Italia Next Gen for young riders that he made his mark in 2024, finishing in 3rd place in the final standings.

Pau Marti made an impression today in the minds of his competitors in the general classification, with everyone already understanding that he will need to be reckoned with for the finale until Sunday in Kigali, with difficult stages to come where his qualities as a puncher could be a significant advantage.

His 6th place at the U23 World Championships in Kigali last September had given him good insights into what to expect from Rwanda’s challenging roads.
