President Paul Kagame has cleared the retirement of police officers and commissioners ,according to a statement..
In the announcement released by Police on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Kagame approved among the retirees the former police boss CG Emmanuel K Gasana, who is now the Eastern Province Governor.
Others cleared for retirement in the batch include, CP Emmanuel Butera,CP Nshimiyimana Vianney, CP Bruce Munyambo, ACP Damas Gatare, and ACP Privat Gakwaya.
The Head of State also retired five (5) senior officers, 28 junior officers, and 60 junior police officers.
The National Police announces that seven (7) officers have been dismissed due to illness and six (6) have been dismissed for various other undisclosed reasons.
