The Minister of State for Local Government, Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney, who presided over the event in Gicumbi District with about 1065 donations, commended the partners who have continued to support the Connect Rwanda program.

He urged the recipients of the telephones to use them to show the progress, and benefits in their respective communities; while sharing information.

The Minister of Technology and Innovation Ingabire Paula, led a similar campaign in Bugesera District distributing 566 telephones, said that through partnerships with partners the campaign will become easier for people to own modern telephones.

“We will work with various partners to create a sustainable way to make it easier for people to own modern phones,” she said.
