Independent presidential candidate Philippe Mpayimana vows to sue Belgium, Germany, and France for their colonial actions that he claims led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Mpayimana aims to bring this case to the Hague-based International Court of Justice, seeking accountability and justice for Rwanda’s tragic past.
Mpayimana, now 54 years old, intends to prepare a court case under the United Nations, specifically before its Hague-based International Court of Justice. He accuses these countries of distorting Rwanda’s history and morality between 1894 and 1994, leading to the Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi.
The Independent presidential candidate criticizes these nations for protecting those who committed the atrocities and fled to DR Congo.
“If they divided the people, why can’t they be held accountable for that?” Mpayimana questioned, highlighting the need for justice and accountability for the implicated countries.
