President Paul Kagame met with international business leaders to discuss investment opportunities in the country’s tourism and hospitality sectors, the Office of the President said Monday.
Kagame received Mohamed Ali Janah, head of Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives, a company specializing in hotel and tourism services. Janah also holds senior leadership roles at JIH Global Investments. Kagame also met with Ghassan Aboud and Ahmad, executives at Ghassan Aboud Group, a trading company based in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement issued by the president’s office at Village Urugwiro, the talks focused on development and investment opportunities in Rwanda, particularly in luxury hotels and accommodation infrastructure.
JIH Global Investments is an international firm focused on hotel development and is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates.
Janah also serves as a U.N. special adviser on tourism and is president of the Maldives Employers’ Federation.
Ghassan Aboud Group was founded in 1994 by Ghassan Aboud, a prominent investor known for his involvement in the automobile trade. The company has since expanded into other sectors, including hospitality and real estate, with operations in the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Belgium, China, Jordan and Turkey.
