Hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic supporters have joyfully welcomed the candidate and chairman of RPF, Paul Kagame, on the second day of his campaign tour in Rubavu District, north-west Rwanda.
Kagame visited Gisa Site in Rugerero, where thousands gathered from the districts of Rubavu, Nyabihu and Rutsiro of the Western Province.
It was the second day of the Presidential campaigns which started in Musanze on Saturday.
In Rubavu, Kagame said that Rwandans have to overcome a bad history so that anyone who wants to separate them finds it impossible.
He said that everything Rwanda has achieved is based on security, so it should be left.
“You can’t achieve anything without security. Security is important and is provided by everyone, you as Rwandans are one of the first in the role of security.
President Kagame went on to say: “Do you see anyone who wants Rwanda, where would he go? And as we progress, the more we build, the more we continue to build security capabilities to ensure that what we build will last.
Campaigning on border with DR Congo, President Kagame largely ignored commenting on conflict in eastern DR Congo. However, pointed out that Rwanda is seeking “peaceful co-existence” with neighbors and beyond but is “prepared” to counter any threats
He concluded by asking the people of Rubavu to prepare, stressing the achievement of July 15, 2024 election day.
The RPF Inkotanyi candidate will continue his campaign activities on Wednesday, June 24, at Ngororero Stadium and Shyogwe in Muhanga District. Respectively.
