Fire at noon gutted the top building housing ECOBANK headquarters in capital Kigali causing panic among the staff, there were no casualties and significant damages.
The fire started at around 12:00 on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the 9th floor, smoke was observed through one of the top windows of the building but it was quickly contained before it could spread to the other floors.
One of the Staff has said that they heard something bursting but they took immediate steps affecting the office stationary at the top floor of the building.
Police fire brigade used a high-rise fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
At this stage, there is no information related to the cause of the fire.
