AS Kigali women football club lifted the 2022/2023 women’s first Division Championship trophy in style for the 12th time thanks to 5-0 wins against Mukarange over the weekend.
The City of Kigali women’s team secured the 12th women title with a game to spare. They’ve continued to dominate the local women league because last year, they won the title with three games to spare.
The win meant that if AS Kigali WFC lost the final match in the season and Inyemera WFC won, the champions would still be one point ahead to be crowned champions.
Jeannette Ukwinkunda helped the club in lifting the trophy after scoring 23 goals to become the top scorer this season.
