Military football side APR FC have won the Primus National League championship 2021/2022 after beating Police FC 2-0 at Kigali Stadium.
The army side beat law enforcers Police FC in the final match round of the domestic topflight league on Thursday, to retain the title for a third successive season and automatically booking the rights to represent the country in Champions League.
APR finished the season as table leaders with 66 points, one ahead of second-placed SC Kiyovu in second position.
SC Kiyovu, on the other hand book a spot into the Caf Confederation tournament after Francis Haringingo’s men defeated Marines 1-0
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African football (CAF) has announced that the 2022/2023 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will begin on Friday, August 12.
The group stages for both competitions will start in September. And it will end before November 18 for clubs to free players who will represent their countries at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The knockouts will not start until February 2023 after the African Nations Championships (CHAN) tournament to be held in Algeria.
